I’m Rachel Vora, a psychotherapist fascinated by our relationship with work - not the “what do you do?” version, but the deeper questions: how work shapes our identity, self-worth, purpose, and even acts as armour. How we use it to prove ourselves, avoid ourselves, or define ourselves.
And what happens when that stops “working.”

In 2026, I’m exploring this in a few ways:

-
Grounded – my Substack with psychologically informed pieces on ambition, identity, productivity, and discipline.

-
Therapy.by.Rachel on Instagram – book recommendations, networking events, and insights on why “working harder” often doesn’t work.

-
Individual therapy – limited availability in South Manchester or online for high achievers struggling to disconnect from work or facing questions about identity and purpose. Book a consultation call here

-
Committee Member at The After Work Club Manchester – connecting ambitious professionals to explore meaningful approaches to work and life.

Education and Experience
I hold an MA (merit) and am a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist. I have recently trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy, adding to my integrative approach that combines Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic, and Person-Centred therapies.

Over the years, I’ve supported ambitious individuals facing anxiety, work stress, burnout, and life transitions, helping them understand their patterns, gain self-awareness, and implement practical, lasting changes.
My experience spans one-to-one therapy, workshops, and school-based provision, giving me a broad perspective on supporting clients to thrive both personally and professionally.
